what you dont understand you can make mean anything...

L managed to convince her PA, to join her for L’s afternoon skate. We really wanted some photos but the boy wouldn’t let L take the camera by herself while on wheels... Something I am inclined to agree with! Today turned out beautifully, it was perfect weather and the PA was very accommodating.

And yes... L does tend to wear ridiculous things like sequins when skating! I’m pretty sure she’s used to all the stares now!

it's cool if you like it, it's okay if you don't, just decide for yourselves...

There has been an explosion of energy in our lives recently with Busty and I being allowed out to play in the garden EVERY morning and L getting back into her creativity and DIY. She has a huge list of to-creates to get finished by the end of the week, a task she is excited about succeeding in.

Today L went on an excursion to her mums, the motivation for this being, to go through her secondary wardrobe (items she rarely wears and can’t fit into her bed and dressing room's at home) She came back with some absolute gems, vintage 50’s high waisted long skirts in satins, tulle, chiffons and tweed, pretty dresses and this fantastic leather knitted tank top her mum made back when she was L’s age!

The leather thong is so unbelievably soft and the detail is magnificent honestly I can’t imagine sitting down for the exuberant amount of time it would take to hand weave this beautiful garment, but then again I am a cat and my attention span is somewhat limited!

one teaspoon leather crop top, vintage leather knitted top, vintage ashleigh morgan skirt
This is one of the reasons L finds it so hard to give away or dispose of old clothes. L is so very lucky that her mum saved her wardrobes from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s to give to L. Not only does L now have a quite sizable vintage wardrobe to play with but with the past fashions coming back around L truly realises how extremely lucky she is to have such well preserved beauties at her disposal, each is a precious treasure she could never give away. No she’s saving this fortune for her girls.

Does anyone know how L feels?! Are you a wardrobe hoarder?! Do you have a treasure you could never ever part with?!?

oh, wouldn't it be great if I was crazy? then the world would be okay...

L messing round the the boys new web cam and its effects

it's an omen! it's a higher power trying to tell me through bunnies that we're all gonna die! oh god!

Buster and I have been betrayed! Yesterday L went over to her brother Smiley’s house to take photos of his bunnies and after seeing the photo’s we are NOT impressed to say the least.

L did take this opportunity to try out her new rose leggings from the ever wonderful Black Milk, we were both pleasantly surprised with the odd snakeskin type texture of them when received! And as always they are beyond exceptional quality.

summertime... and the living's easy...

today was reading in the pool, berry smoothies and floral sunglasses, procrastinating over what to wear and cold cappuccinos  -  stumbling round Beaufort St in sky high Jeffrey Campbells and humming bird fast stop and chats with long unseen friends   -  lunch of tiered sandwiches and adopting big thick fashion magazines   -  painting nails "Green-which village" , reading Love and burning incense - Peppermint tea and plans for tomorrow, rustling around fabric trove, Joni Mitchell, muffins and chocolate buttons  -  gourmet woodfired pizza’s and hundreds and thousands biscuits  -  connector colouring textas and doodling in book margins, empty take away coffee cups and glitter  -  chocolate popcorn and horror movies

worlds whithin worlds...

Finally. A new outfit post. I am so very glad L has found some enthusiasm to take photos; it’s not that she doesn’t like it. On the contrary she loves it! However right now she is drained, drained and depleted. But with every passing day it does get a little better and a little brighter so I am needless to say, quite excited to see the preverbal trees through the forest.

Something that did make L happy was her new treasure found the other day... behold! L is now the pompous new owner of a leather UTILITY BELT! Schhhwwwaaaarrrrr! (Pictures below) I’m pretty sure she’s pulling my leg and it’s just a fancy bum bag, but I must admit, it does look pretty swanky... with all its pockets and utillityness.... well for a bum bag that is.

So to honour basically an expensive belt L trundled out the back to the lane-labyrinth to take some photos. I love this top she is wearing, it’s light and airy and its neutral colour goes with almost anything. Though I can’t help but think in these pictures L looks as if she’s travelling out on safari, if it wasn’t for the backdrop of urban garages and laneway’s she would be right at home in the jungle.

Despite my sarcastic, somewhat mocking tone I am actually quite enamoured with L’s new Utility belt and outfit alike.  This look is what I think epitomizes the majority of Perth’s fashion in summer, denim cut-offs, big over sized t-shirts. Not much variation unfortunately, hopefully that will change soon.  Recently, Perth has wholeheartedly been embracing new and exciting fashion, local and international alike, which is wonderful to see.

Today, also in attempt to encourage inspiration L dragged out her Roller-skates and taught herself how to use them. She was overjoyed to have nearly gotten it down pat before the sun went down and tomorrow she has a Roller planned for around the beautiful Hyde Park. So inspiration 1! Boredom and uselessness 0!
