you may think at first i'm mad as a hatter. when I tell you a cat must have three different names...

A lot has been happening in recent days, busy would be an understatement. Work has been consuming and devouring L's life force, Buster and Maebe have been sick and been on horrible meds, and now L's sick. There was a ray of sunshine through the clouds though, last week it was L’s mum’s birthday. L put on a lovely picnic in the park for her, complete with homemade potato salad, cupcakes and all sorts of yummy treats!

A quick visual post for today with glimpses of what’s been happening and some of L’s outfits, currently we are disappointed in her.  Being so busy means she is left with very little time to put much thought into her outfits and consequently most of the time she goes out looking crazy and ends up changing at least three times a day.

The Mercedes-Benz Annual WA Fashion Award night is the fashionable finale of the Perth Fashion Festival. This is a stylish black tie evening for Perth’s fash-pack to recognise and celebrate WA’s elite, homemade talent. Held in the grand ballroom at Burswood’s entertainment complex past years have proved this is an electric event not to be missed.

We sent off our media accreditations yesterday so hopefully we’ll be there covering the event. Maybe they’ll even make a special exception and let this little kitty accompany L, I promise to be on my most stylish behaviour!

you know what crazy is? crazy is majority rules.

This week has seen L slowly descend into madness. Stress, among other things is certainly getting the better of her.

Despite her leisurely spiral down to the mad hatter’s tea party L has been welcoming the time she has to relax and help me with this blog. I like to think it has something to do with bonding... but I assume it’s more along the lines of escaping. L loves denial.

These photos are from Monday... again taken on one of L’s afternoon strolls through the labyrinth. We were inspired by the amazing weather and couldn't help but lean towards ice-creamy, bubblegum, gelato, pastely colours for Mondays outfit, baby blues, peach and lilac were perfect for the sun soaked day.

This post although not detailed comes as a reminder not to let stress take over your life, take every day as it comes. Just look at the beautiful weather we’re having! How could you not smile!

well, the buzz from the bees is that the leopards are in a bit of a spot...

Late last week L’s latest online purchase arrived... giddy and high on adrenalin she eagerly tore open the box to reveal her new Leopard delights. Oh the prettiness! Oh the joy! Like a kid told they’re getting a puppy, she was over the moon. She promptly ripped them out of the box and enveloped her feet in them. L refused to release them all day.

Surprisingly her feet didn’t mind one bit! They were warm and snugly and comfy in their sexy new boots. They didn’t complain at all!

As L was running around like a chook with her head cut off all of last week, she took these photos yesterday in the alley. L’s having a blast playing with the light and the magnitude of different backdrops to be found in the labyrinth of alleys behind our house. I hope your enjoying the new style of photos!

We decided to let the boots do the talking for their debut outfit, with the rest of the look primarily black, instead playing on the subtle details like cut and texture.

It’s another full on week this week for L and as usual things keep piling up. We’re moving into the fashion season in Perth. This time of year explodes with a multitude of fashion events, with the annual Perth Fashion Festival taking centre stage in September. We're very much looking forward to it, as usual.

truffle hunt...

Today L went truffle hunting. A lovely day was spent at the Mundaring Truffle Festival, an absolute banquet for the senses. The sun was out and bright and Perth’s truffle lovers descended in droves to taste, buy, learn and be entertained by all things truffle...

The Truffle Centre was the first stop for L. Being right inside the entrance; there, she was treated to tastings of the standard truffle fair, salt, butter, oil, shavings, salsa etc... Deeper inside the festival however there were more exotic bites to be had. Every delectable thing imaginable infused with truffles! Things like truffle cheese, truffle pizza, truffle burgers and hot-dogs, truffle risottos, chips, macaroons, truffle chicken baguettes and wraps, pastas and many, many more tasty morsels!

visitors were encouraged to guess the weight of this truffle - the prize. the whole thing!

L had a fantastic time at the festival and came home very full and feeling like a giant truffle! After a quick relax on the couch she made the most of the afternoon and the beautiful but fleeting sunlight and took some pictures of her truffle hunting outfit in the back alley way.

The other week L's little brother got a new camera and L keeps stealing it for work and it certainly comes in handy for the blog! She's really loving it though, much better then her camera. The boy has said if she researches it and finds out exactly what she needs he'll buy one for her, needless to say L is very excited about that.
